Process of Uninstalling Apps from Android Devices isn’t always a simple one, whether it’s a tablet or a smartphone.

Even though the app “disappears” from the user’s device after clicking “uninstall”, there is a possibility that small files and parts of the program still remain in the device’s memory, which can cause performance issues. That’s why in this article, we offer detailed information on how to completely uninstall and delete every app from your Android device.

Manual Cleaning Process

To reduce the amount of data that remains after uninstallation, you can manually clean the data. Although it’s not ideal to do this yourself, it can be a good option if you don’t want to use additional apps for that purpose. It’s important to note that this task should be done before the uninstallation process.

Go to device settings, select Apps (Apps & Notifications or Application Manager, depending on the device), choose the app you want to uninstall, click on Storage, and then on Clear Data and Clear Cache. If you see the Manage Data option, touch it to delete all additional data.

Deleting Files Remaining on the Device After Uninstalling an App

After the process of deleting apps on your Android device, you probably notice that some files still remain, even after uninstallation. It’s advisable to delete these files as well because they may contain various app-related data and take up space in the device’s memory.

For this process, you can use file management apps. If you want additional options when deleting, you can try some apps like “Files” or Google Files, and FX File Explorer.

“Files” or Google Files

If you don’t want to use third-party apps, you can use Google’s “Files” app that comes with most Android devices or can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Although it doesn’t offer as deep cleaning and scanning as some other apps, “Files” provides a user-friendly interface for viewing downloads, images, videos, and allows file sharing over the internet with automatic encryption.

FX File Explorer

When choosing a file management app, it’s important to consider whether you want something simple or with more options. FX File Explorer offers SMBv2 support, customizable screen, and file size display, making it suitable for more experienced users.

FX allows you to create and view encrypted files, and also offers useful options for music enthusiasts. It’s free, ad-free, but offers the option to expand with paid features like FX Connect and Web Access.

Regardless of the app you use, searching for the selected app for deletion is one of the steps. It’s always advisable to make a backup before deleting files just in case.

Connecting an Android Device to a Windows PC for Deeper Scanning

If you want a more thorough cleaning of your Android device, you can connect it to a Windows PC for a better insight into files and their deletion. Connecting to a Windows PC allows better access to the device’s files and facilitates cleaning.

One way to uninstall apps from an Android device, along with all traces, is to first uninstall the app from settings, and then use a Windows PC to remove the remaining files.

Connect the device to the computer using a USB cable, select Allow on the device, and change the transfer option to File Transfer. Using the computer, you will be able to review and delete unnecessary files from the device.
